According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) Defence, Jammu, today at around 7:30 am two suspicious individuals, tried to stop a civil vehicle at Batote on National Highway (NH) 244. The civilian did not stop the vehicle and informed Army QRT.

Security forces had already cordoned off the area and were attempting to combat the terrorists. Further details of the incident are awaited. Earlier on July 31, two terrorists were gunned down by security forces in Kanzalwan village of Gurez sector.

According to Geo News, two missiles hit a house in the area, killing five militants affiliated with Hafiz Gul Bahadur terror group. The group is a faction of Pakistan's Taliban.
