New Delhi: Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari gave a reply to India after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, in the UN Security Council, accused Pakistan to harbour Osama bin Laden. Bhutto took a jibe at Indian PM Narendra Modi while replying to the Security Council. He said that Osama is dead but the ‘butcher of Gujarat’ is the Prime Minister of India.

Bhutto, currently attending UN meetings in New York, said that PM Modi was not allowed to enter the USA before becoming the Prime Minister. He accused Narendra Modi and S Jaishankar to work for RSS while RSS draws inspiration from Hitler.
The controversy began when Bhutto, during the UN Security Council Open Debate on ‘Maintenance of International Peace and Security: New Orientation for Reformed Multilateralism,’ raised the Kashmir issue before the council. S Jaishankar slammed Bhutto for raising the issue and said that Pakistan has been a host to al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, who was behind the 9/11 attacks in the USA, also the nation has attacked India’s Parliament. Jaishankar gave this argument to say that Pakistan has no right to ‘sermonise’ in the UN Security Council.

Jaishankar further added that the normalisation of threats like pandemics, climate change and terrorism should not be acceptable. He accused Pakistan of sponsoring cross-border terrorism. The Indian External Affairs Minister has raised questions on Pakistan in the UN meeting on the matter of state-sponsored terrorism, taking the context of the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai.
This UN Security Council Open Debate was a signature event held under India’s Presidency. Bhutto was one of the 60 speakers at the event.
