New Delhi: Britain’s royalty Charles III has been formally acknowledged as King of the United Kingdom on Saturday, September 10.
After the demise of Britain’s longest-serving monarch Queen Elizabeth, her eldest son automatically assumed the monarchy under the old common law rule.
King Charles III was officially declared Queen’s successor at the historic Accession Council’s convention in the UK at 10 am (2:30 pm Indian Standard Time).

The historic event took place at London’s St James’s Palace, while the Garter King of Arms read the Principal Proclamation from the balcony of the convention.
However, the ceremony was broadcasted live for the first time as King Charles III is recognized as the new sovereign of the United Kingdom.
