New Delhi: Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) chief Paramjit Singh Panjwar was reportedly shot dead by two unidentified shooters in Johar Town of Lahore, Pakistan. Paramjit Singh Panjwar aka Malik Sardar Singh was a designated terrorist and was shot near his house in Sunflower Society at about 6 am on May 6, today. One of his shooters was also injured in the firing and was shifted to a hospital.
Paramjit Panjwar passed away at the age of 59. Born in Panjwar village near Taran Taran, he was involved in reviving the demand for Khalistan in Punjab and plotting Sikh insurgency. Apart from it, he was alleged of murder and drugs and weapons smuggling.
He was the cousin of radical leader Labh Singh and joined KCF in 1986. Labh Singh was killed by the Indian security forces, after which Paramjit took command of KCF in the 1990s and moved over to Pakistan. He was on the list of most wanted terrorists sheltered in Pakistan.
Panjwar reportedly raised funds for KCF through cross-border weapons smuggling and drug trafficking. He was involved in smuggling heroin to Punjab, India through drones. While Panjwar stayed in Lahore, his wife and children relocated to Germany.
Prior to joining KCF and becoming a Khalistani leader, he was working in a Central Cooperative Bank in Sohal.
Earlier, India also witnessed a big action in supressing the Khalistan uprising in Punjab as ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh was arrested after days of absconding.
