On Camera: Ukraine MP seen punching Russian Representative at Turkey summit, Here's Why

New Delhi: A video has gone viral on social media which shows an Ukrainian Member of Parliament punching a member of the Russian team who had snatched or may be pulled down the Ukrainian flag in Turkey at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC).

The dramatic incident was reported  during 61st Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Community on Thursday (May 4) in Turkey’s Ankara.

This comes after almost 14 months after Russia invaded Ukraine.

In the video, it can be seen that Ukrainian Oleksandr Marikovskyi was holding his country’s flag when suddenly an unidentified Russian representative approached him, snatched or ripped the country’s falg and and started walking away.

Following this, the MP can be seen blowing punches, and snatched the flag back while other officials intercepted him.

Sharing the video of the incident on Facebook, he wrote “Paws away from our flag” (in Ukrainian).

While others who were presnt at the event recorded the incident on their mobile phones.

The tension between the two comes a day after attempts were made to assassinate President Vladimir Putin. Russia had claimed that Ukraine tried to assassinate Putin with a drone attack on the Kremlin.
