Pak’s ex-minister calls for LIVE telecast of India’s Chandrayaan-3 landing, he once mocked Moon Mission

Fawad Chaudhry - Chandrayaan 3

New Delhi: While Pakistan remains besieged by problems, including skyrocketing prices of basic essentials and political turmoil, a former Pakistani minister Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday called country’s new channels to do a LIVE telecast of India’s Chandrayaan-3 landing on the Moon.

Taking to Twitter turned X, Fawad Chaudhry termed the designated landing of Vikram Lander, a ‘milestone moment’ for the mankind and said that Pakistani citizens should be made to see this.

He also congratulated Indian scientists and the space mission team for achieving an exceptional feat and marking its way into a select club of nations.

“Pakistan media should show #Chandrayan moon landing live tomorrow at 6:15 PM… historic moment for Human kind specially for the people, scientists and Space community of India…. Many Congratulations,” Fawad Chaudhry posted.

Fawad Chaudhry was Information and Broadcasting minister in the erstwhile Imran Khan government.

When former Pak minister mocked Chandryaan

The sudden praise and adulation for India’s Moon Mission by former Pak minister came as surprising development because just a month ago, he made jeering remarks at India’s mission.

“Itne papad belne ki zaroorat nahi hai. Chaand jo hai najar aa jata hai, exactly uski location pata hoti hai…kis territory me uska kya altitude hoga?, he had said in a TV debate.

In 2019, he had derided the ‘expensive’ lunar mission and said that it was foolish of India to spend Rs 900 crore.
