New Delhi: Tulsi Gabbard, the first Hindu to make it to the US House of Representatives, recently visited New Jersey’s BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple. During her visit, she addressed over 1000 devotees who were there to grace the event.

Gabbard started off her speech with a Namasete, stating that she was grateful to be present at such a reputed holy place like BAPS Akshardham Temple. She further added that it was a great honor and privilege for her to be a part of BAPS Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s 103rd birth anniversary program.

Picked by US President-elect Donald Trump as the next Director of National Intelligence, Tusli praised the Temple’s sculptures and architecture, remarking that they look extremely holy and enchanting in nature. She noted that each idol of the prestigious temple is unique in itself and has a divine meeting attached to it.

“Both the magnificent and the small etchings of some of the most famous stories about Krishna and Arjuna from the Bhagavad Gita were truly inspiring”, Gabbard quoted further.

Following that, she remarked that she believes that every person who has ever stepped into the BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham Mandir must have felt the same kind of sheer mental peace she is feeling inside the temple premises. “The magnificence of the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple, in itself,” speaks volumes about its grandeur and Nobility.” the Ex-Democratic congresswoman noted further.

Previously, before making her address to the devotees at the BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple, Tusli received a warm welcome from the Temple authorities who applied Tilak on her forehead and placed a garland of flowers around her neck.  Following that, she strolled through the Temple premises & sought the blessing of the almighty god with folded hands.

Later that day, the 43-year-old took to her social media handle and shared several pictures of her Temple visit, expressing her gratitude for receiving such a warm welcome at the BAPS Temple. She offered a special thanks to Robbinsville’s mayor, council members, Hindu leaders, and devotees from all over America who were present at the event.
