Hyundai India announces new SUV ‘Exter’ for gen-Z with wanderlust (VIDEO)

The name and the promotions draw inspiration from the natural surroundings while the firm is marketing the SUV with the slogan, “Think outside. Think EXTER.”

New Delhi: Hyundai India has announced their upcoming SUV ‘Exter’. The SUV will be competing with the likes of Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Ignis in the Indian market. The name and the promotions draw inspiration from the natural surroundings while the firm is marketing the SUV with the slogan, “Think outside. Think EXTER.”

Hyundai shared an announcement video on their YouTube channel and speaking at the announcement ceremony, the COO of Hyundai India, Mr. Tarun Garg said that the name ‘exemplifies the pulse of Gen Z’ and the SUV will empower them with a smart mobility solution. He added that Exter is the eighth SUV model launched by the automobile company and they are confident that it will add to the firm’s SUV sales.

As per the marketing, the SUV is made for travelling to various places, hence it might be an SUV in the adventure segment, rather than bending for luxurious needs.

The 40-second-long teaser tracks the letters E, X, T, E, and R in nature’s lap and presents the name Exter.

The SUV will be developed at the brand’s Chennai factory and is expected to be exported from India. Reportedly, Exter might be launched in May this year and can have an ex-showroom price anywhere between Rs 6-10 lakhs.

Currently, the South Korean company has Venue, Creta, Tucson and Alcazar as the SUV models in India. The firm has also launched Ioniq 5 and Kona EV in its electric SUV segment. Hyundai recently launched the new Verna an elegant front horizon LED, fastback design, connect LED tail lamps and several other new features.
