New Delhi: Mahindra & Mahindra is set to launch an all-new electric SUV in India on September 8. The launch was confirmed by the Chairperson of the company Anand Mahindra on August 31 on Twitter. He also revealed a 15-second long teaser to give a sneak peek look at the car. Ahead of the launch, we are going to explain the details of the new Mahindra SUV in five points.

Ahead of the launch of Mahindra’s new car, here are the five points to know about the SUV:
1. Electric motor detail
According to the reports, the new Mahindra XUV400 will come with an NMC battery that is known to generate more power and a longer range. The electric motor is said to generate 150hp. Notably, the vehicle is equipped with a single front-wheel-drive electric motor.
2. Range of battery
The detail in media reports suggests the Electric SUV is packed with a 40 kWh battery pack. It is rumoured that the company will sell the SUV in two battery pack options. The battery is expected to power the motor for 400 km on a single charge.
3. Expected features
The new XUV will carry new headlights with integrated DRLs, a closed-off front grille, 17-inch alloy wheels, an Advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) and a new design for the tail lamps. Among the expected features, Mahindra’s SUV include a dual-zone climate control system, auto headlamps with rain-sensing wipers, and type-C charging ports.
4. Price and rivals of Mahindra XUV 400
The Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV is likely to come to around Rs 20 lakh. The rivals of Mahindra’s electric car are: Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona electric.
5. Design and look
The electric SUV is measured at around 4.2 meters in length and will offer more space and a bigger boot compared to the 3,995mm long XUV300. The car is believed to draw a similar look to the eXUV 300. However, the X-patterned logo on the front side is finished in bronze.
