New Delhi: Ola, in a live event on social media, re-launched their S1 Air Electric Scooter with some updates and lowered prices. Ola S1 Air was launched last year during Diwali and now, the company unveiled three models of their S1 Air EV. The reservation for the EV is beginning today while the delivery process will take place later in July this year.
Founder and CEO of Ola, Bhavish Aggarwal said that the firm tries to challenge the dominance of original equipment manufacturers with their scooters with internal combustion engines (ICEs).
Ola S1 Air will now be available with a minor battery capacity, with some tweaks in the range and the top speed. This is also the reason behind the reduced prices of the EV.
S1 Air comes with 2 kWh, 3 kWh and 4 kWh battery capacities, with the only difference being the range. As compared to Ola S1, the largest-selling scooter for the firm, S1 Air uses a smaller motor which reduces its range, top speed and price. While S1 has a top speed of 91 kmph, S1 Air can go up to 85 kmph.

The price range for the new Ola S1 Air starts from Rs. 84,999 as compared to Rs 99,999 for S1. This makes it one of the most affordable electric scooters in the market.
Ola’s future plans
Ola is planning to open 500+ experience centres in India by March. Ola has 2,00,000 active users in India and this launch is set to act as a big boost for their EV market.
