New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki is set to compete in the SUV market next year by launching new models in India. According to reports, two of their upcoming SUV launches will be displayed at the Auto Expo 2023. Meanwhile, some pictures of its upcoming car Jimny have been leaked on the internet.
Maruti Suzuki is bringing a five-door model of their SUV Jimny as compared to the three-door model being sold in the global markets. It is expected to be a longer wheelbase version of the previous model, offering more space. The car has a kinetic yellowish-green body with large wheel arches, ORVMs, side cladding and bumpers all in black plastic. There is a huge difference in the wheelbase of the two models. The three-door model had a wheelbase of 300 mm while the five-door model is expected to have a wheelbase of around 2,500 mm.
The spy shots of the exterior of the car were revealed on social media before the display at the Auto Expo 2023. The pictures were taken during a television commercial shoot.
The car is expected to have cruise control and up to six airbags while looking at the three-door model, it can be said that the five-door model might have an all-black cabin with silver accents. The new model has been given two additional doors and will be launched under the sub-four-metre category. The car might use Grand Vitara’s 1.5-litre mild-hybrid engine. It is expected to have Rs 10 lakh as the starting price (ex-showroom), while all of this is just speculation.
