New Delhi: All new Tata Tiago EV has been launched in India on Wednesday. The car will be available at an introductory price of Rs 8.49 lakh, making it the first EV in the country priced under Rs 10 lakh. The vehicle has been launched in four different variants – XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech Lux. More details of the four-wheeler EV are available below.

Tata Tiago EV motor and booking details
We must tell you that the booking for the car will start on October 10. However, the delivery of the car will begin in January, next year.
The new EV by Tata comes in two lithium-ion battery pack options – 19.2kWh and 24kWh. Both the batteries of the car are protected with a warranty of 8 years/1,60,000km. The small battery is claimed to deliver an MIDC range of 250 km while the larger battery gets a claimed MIDC range of 315km.
The motor paired with the larger 24kWh battery produces 74hp and 114NM of torque. The Smaller version generates 61hp and 110Nm of torque. Tata says the larger battery helps the car to reach 0-60kph in 5.7 seconds while the smaller one does the same in 6.2 seconds.
According to the company, a 50kW DC fast charger can charge the Tiago EV from 10-80 in just 57 minutes. However, the battery will take 5 hours and 5 minutes to get charged from 10-100 with the standard 3.3kW home charger.
Tata Tiago EV price and rivals
The car is available in the market in five colours — Teal Blue, Pristine White, Midnight Plum, Tropical Mist, and Daytona Grey. The car also gets a leatherette steering wheel, a rotary dial for the drive mode selector and features a Sports mode. Interestingly, the Tiago EV misses out on a spare wheel but gets a puncture repair kit.
The base variant of car XE 19.2Kwh is priced at Rs 8.49 lakh with a charging capacity of 3.3kW. The highest variant of the car is available for sale at Rs 11.79 lakh with a charging capacity of 7.2kW.
