New Delhi: Famous Swedish car brand, Volvo launched its first electric car in the Indian market, XC40 Recharge, calling it Pure Electric. The booking for the car will be started on July 27. The price of the car is Rs 11.40 lakh more expensive compared to the petrol-powered XC40.

Volvo XC40 Recharge: battery and motor details
Volvo is equipped with a 78kWh battery that can deliver a claimed range of 418km. Notably, the car gets two motors, with one on each axle. The motor delivers an output of 402 bhp and 660 Nm of torque. Moreover, the company claims the cars can reach 0-100 kph time of just 4.9 seconds.
The car comes with 150kw DC fast charging that can refill the battery from 10 to 80% in just 33 minutes. The company also offer a three-year warranty on the car and an eight-year warranty on the batteries to its buyers. However, the car is 400kg heavier than the petrol model, weighing in at 2,188kg.
Volvo XC40 Recharge: Features and price details
For the safety of its customers, Volvo offers 7 airbags, a tyre pressure monitor system, a 360-degree camera, hill descent control, front and rear collision mitigation, lane keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.
Moreover, the buyers will get dual-zone climate control, air purifier, panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, driver seat memory function, 9.0-inch touchscreen with Google software and in-built Google Assistant and a premium Harman Kardon sound system.
It is reported that XC40 recharge will be available in 5 colour options that include Black Stone, Crystal White, Glacier Silver, Fusion Red and Denim Blue.
The booking for Volvo’s electric car will commence on 27th July 2022. One can book it at a price of Rs 50,000. It will be available in the market at around Rs 55.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
