Apparently, on the Forbes Billionaire 2023 list, the billionaire has reclaimed his position as Asia’s richest person. In Forbes’ billionaire 2023 list, the owner of the Mumbai Indians cricket franchise outscored Steve Ballmerm to take the title of world’s richest sports owner.
According to the list, which was announced on April 4, the 20 richest sports owners in the globe are worth a total of $509 billion, topped by India’s Ambani. “Mukesh Ambani, the owner of the Mumbai Indians cricket franchise, is the world’s richest sports owner. Ambani has surpassed Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer to retake the top rank “, according to the Forbes survey.

Ambani made the cut with a whopping $83.4 billion net worth as of March 10, 2023, when Forbes locked in the riches for the 2023 World’s Billionaires list. It’s worth noting that shares of Ambani’s firm RIL plummeted 3% in the last year, although it wasn’t as much as shares of Microsoft, where Ballmer was CEO from 2000 to 2014.
A 13% drop in the company’s stock value reduced Ballmer’s net worth to $80.7 billion, making him the world’s second-wealthiest franchise owner. In addition to owning cricket franchises in South Africa and the United Arab Emirates, Reliance just purchased a team in the first Women’s Premier League.
