Tata Punch sets new record; 1 lakh units of the SUV sold in 10 months

The introductory price for the manual variant of Tata Punch starts from Rs 5.49 lakh and goes up to 8.79 lakh.

New Delhi: Tata Motors achieved a new milestone on Thursday by selling 1 lakh units of Tata PUNCH within just 10 months from the day sale started. The 100,000th unit of Punch compact SUV was rolled out at the company’s manufacturing unit, situated in Pune. The company shared the news on its official Twitter account Tata Motors Cars today. It also thanked its customers for their robust demand for the SUV.

Notably, the SUV comes with a five-star Global NCAP safety rating. It is reported that the company saw the highest-ever sales in July this year, recorded at 11,007 units. However, the car is getting tough competition from SUV rivals like Mahindra KUV100, Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Citroen C3.

The price of the car starts from Rs 5.49 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.39 lakh.

Tata Punch Engine and features detials

Tata Punch comes with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine, that can produce 86hp and 113Nm of torque. The car is available in a 5-speed manual and Automatic gearbox option.

The fuel economy figure of the car show that Tata Punch can give the mileage of 18.97 kpl for the manual and 18.82kpl for the automatic variants. The car is claimed to reach 0-100 in 16.5 seconds.

The car offers a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a rear-view camera, cruise control, electric adjust wing mirrors, a USB charging socket and full wheel covers.

However, buyers can also upgrade features as the company is also offering customisation packs.

Tata Punch price and colour

Tata Punch is available for purchase in seven paint shades that include, Orcus white, Daytona Grey, Tropical Mist, Atomic Orange, Meteor Bronze, Calypso Red, and Tronedo Blue.

The introductory price for the manual variant of Tata Punch starts from Rs 5.49 lakh and goes up to 8.79 lakh. For the AMT variant, the company has set the introductory price of Rs 6.99 lakh which goes up to 9.39 lakh.
