New Delhi: Billboard released its nominees for its annual music awards show on October 26 (local time). The Top Global K-Pop Artist, Top K-Pop Album, Top Global K-Pop Song, and Top K-Pop Touring Artist categories are the four new additions to the K-pop awards this year.
The winners of the Billboard Music Awards are determined by performance measures based on year-end Billboard chart positions, and the monitoring period for this year’s awards lasted from November 4, 2022, to October 21, 2023.
Nominees for the BBMAs are determined by the artists’ Billboard chart success over the preceding 12 months. This considers things like album and digital sales, radio play, streaming data, tour activity, and social media involvement. They have increased by four this year. When it comes to K-pop, HYBE acts tend to dominate nominations.
BTS, who have won the BBMAs for the last six years running (2017-2016) and have an incredible total of 12 trophies between them, are nominated this year as solo artists in many different categories.

Jimin of BTS, who just made his solo debut with the song “Like Crazy,” has been nominated for the Top Selling Song award at the New K-pop awards. Songs by Miley Cyrus (Flowers), Jason Aldean (Try That in a Small Town), Oliver Anthony Music (Rich Men North of Richmond), and Taylor Swift (Anti-Hero) are among those competing with Like Crazy for a nomination.

Along with artists like Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, Ed Sheeran, and The Weeknd, NewJeans has been nominated for a Top Billboard Global (Excl. U.S. Artist) award.
And in the Top Duo/Group category, FIFTY FIFTY is up against Eslabon Armado, Fuerza Regida, Grupo Frontera, and Metallica.

The Billboard Music Awards are one of the year’s final sets of award shows and are almost ready to be broadcast. The nominees for this year’s edition were just announced, and Taylor Swift not only leads the pack but also dominates it, with no less than 20 nominations across the board. Next up are Morgan Wallen and SZA with 17 votes each, followed by The Weeknd and Drake with 16 and 14 nods, respectively.

Artists for the Billboard Music Awards will be revealed starting on November 6 via the BBMAs’ social media outlets. The rapidly developing K-pop industry prompted the addition of four new honours this year, making a total of nine new awards presented.
On November 19, 2023, the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas will host the 2023 BBMAs, one of the three main music award ceremonies in American pop music along with the Grammy Awards and the American Music Awards.
