New Delhi: Thai filmmaker Put Puttipong Nakthong helmed and wrote the crime thriller 4 Kings 2. The first film in the series, 4 Kings, became a global smash in 2021 after being the highest-grossing Thai film of that year.
With its massive opening weekend, the Thai gangland sequel 4 Kings 2 became the second-highest opening weekend for a Thai film in 2023. In its four-day opening weekend after its November 30, 2023, release, the movie earned $2.05 million.
Supported by Bangkok-based Neramitnung Film, it became one of the highest-grossing Thai movies that year, with a gross that was 44% higher than 4 Kings.
After an impressive theatrical run, the film will finally be available on Netflix for OTT streaming on May 21.
Returning for vengeance on two competing vocational schools, Ukrit Willibrord Dongabriel’s youthful drug dealer starts a fresh gang war in the sequel.

Plot
Recounted from the perspective of Billy, a former student of vocational institutions who is now a single dad to a teenage daughter, the prequel details the rivalry between four vocational schools: Kanokacheewa, Changkolburapan, Technologyprachachol, and Intaraacheewasuksa.
4 Kings 2 picks off where the first film left off. The incident occurred as rivalry developed among the Kanokacheewa student body after the attack and severe injuries sustained by Tummeng. Kanok student leader Bang planned vengeance on rival Buranabondh pupils. The outcome, however, was unexpected. Bung, Bang’s sister, had to do all she could to aid her brother once he was apprehended.
They both didn’t put in the time to study and peddled drugs, despite Yat’s brat-like appearance. He felt bad for his grandpa, who was paralyzed after being entangled in the fighting among the technical students.
Bang and Yat had been friends ever since they were little kids. Lastly, the two’s former friendship had to cease.

Cast and Crew
Written and directed by Put Puttipong Nakthong, 4 Kings 2 stars Gee Sutthirak Subvijitra and Too Sirat Intarachote in the leading roles. D Gerrard, Ben Benjamin Varney, Top Todsapol, Kwantuch Na Takuathung and Foei Patara Eksangkul play the supporting characters in the movie.
Shinesaeng Ad, a subsidiary business of Neramitnung Film, is in charge of its Thai theatre distribution.
