5 Upcoming South movies to ennoble theatres and OTT space in February

New Delhi: The release of a number of much-awaited south films with the big star cast and a hefty budget have been postponed multiple times since last year owing to a surge in the Covid-19 cases.

However, amid the visible decline in infection cases, filmmakers are finally taking this as an opportunity to release their films on both, theatres and the digital front amidst the Omicron variant scare.

1. Valimai

Release Date: February 24

Touted to be ‘India’s biggest action thriller’, Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar starrer film is all set to hit the theatres this in the last week of February 2022. The film, which also stars Huma Qureshi, will release in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.

2. Aarrattu

Platform: Theatres

Release Date: February 18

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal starrer ‘Aarrattu’ seems to be a hard-hitting hero worshipping action drama from its last month’s released teaser. The movie also stars Shraddha Srinath, Siddique, Nedumudi Venu, Saikumar, Swasika, and Rachana Narayanankutty in the lead roles.

3. Bheeshma Parvam

Release Date: TBD

The recently released one-minute nineteen seconds teaser of the upcoming film has already created hype amongst fans with several glimpses of Mammootty as well as some punch lines. Bheeshma Parvam features Mammootty, Lena, Jinu Joseph, Dileesh Pothan, Farhaan Faasil, and Srindaa.

4. Vikrant Rona

Release Date: February 24

Kichcha Sudeep’s big-budget movie is all set to hit the theatres soon in multiple languages. Apart from Sudeepa, the film also features Jacqueline Fernandez, Nirup Bhandari, and Neetha Ashok in pivotal roles.
