New Delhi: The movie – 800, which is based on the life of renowned Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan, is almost set to be released on OTT streaming services.
The riveting biographical drama 800 tells the story of the ups and downs of the career of the renowned cricketer Muthiah Muralidaran. Madhur Mittal plays the lead role of Muralidaran in this film, which was helmed by MS Sripathy and features an ensemble cast that also includes Mahima Nambiar, Nassar, Vela Ramamoorthy, and others. The film also received assistance with its story and dialogue from the renowned Sri Lankan author Shehan Karunatilaka.
The movie was released in theatres on October 6th, and it has received positive reviews from reviewers as well as enthusiastic fans of cricket. In addition to Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil, this movie brought in a lot of money from other languages as well.

Storyline
The story of how an immigrant became a cricket star is told in 800. During the civil war, Muthiah Muralidaran’s family was compelled to leave Tamil Nadu and relocate to Sri Lanka. Muralidaran took comfort in cricket despite the hardships of their new environment. He spent hours each day perfecting his bowling technique. Despite being the target of discrimination, he ended up with the most wickets in Test cricket history.
His early bowling dominance over his elders inspired them to assist him in reaching the pinnacle of his profession. The Australian cricket team suspended him for bowling with a false action after he made it to the national side. He didn’t give up and, after adjusting his technique, he returned to international cricket stronger than ever, this time collecting 800 wickets.

On October 6, 2023, the much-anticipated movie in the Tamil language titled 800 was finally shown in theatres. The movie was distributed in several different languages, including Tamil, Hindi, English, Sinhala, and other regional languages of India.
Now, this film adaptation of the biography 800 will be available to view on Jio Cinema beginning on December 02.
