New Delhi: As soon as Ranveer Singh starrer ‘83’ hit the theaters, it gathered love from all the audience. The movie was released in theatre all across the world and made to the box office on the very first day. However, people who couldn’t make up to the theatre to watch the movie based on the 1983 World Cup won by India for the first time under the leadership of Kapil Dev, are wondering whether they will be able to watch the film on OTT platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar among others.

Reportedly, the movie makers did not make any announcement about the movie release on Netflix. All the posts on the social media of the actors and makers show that the film was released in theatre. Therefore, the fans will  have a wait a little more to know about the movie’s OTT release.

Neither the movie makers decided to make a Netflix release of the 83 movie nor they have announced the release of the movie on any other OTT platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Disney Hotstar, ALT Balaji, Zee5 among others.

83 movie premiered in theatres on December 24. The movie casts some of the popular actors from the Bollywood industry apart from Ranveer Singh playing the role of the legend Kapil Dev.

Other actors played the role of players who were a part of the 1983 World Cup team India. Actors like Deepika Padukone cast as Romi Bhatia, Pankaj Tripathi as PR Man Singh, Jiiva as Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Chirag Patil as Sandeep Patil, Jatin Sarna as Yashpal Sharma, Harrdy Sandhu as Madan Lal, Ammy Virk as Balwinder Sandhu and many more.

Earlier, the movie was scheduled to release in April 2020 however, the date was pushed to Christmas owing to the Covid-19 outbreak. The movie was again postponed to June 2021 and with the sudden rise of Covid-19 cases in the country, the makers made a final release of the film on December 24.
