94-year-old June Squibb performs spectacular action stunts for upcoming film ‘Thelma’, leaves netizens speechless

New Delhi: The 94-year-old American actress June Squibb will be seen performing some spectacular action stunts in the upcoming movie titled ‘Thelma’.

According to the reports, Squibb herself convinced the directors to cast her in the action-comedy film. She said that she would be able to perform all the stunts regardless of her old age.

In a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live, Squibb was heard sharing her reaction when she read the script. She said, “I read that script and I thought, oh boy that scooter is gonna be great fun!”. The actress further revealed that the filmmakers were concerned about her safety. They thought Squibb wouldn’t be able to do most of the stunts. So, Alice’s fame persuaded the team to let her give it a try.

In the action-comedy movie ‘Thelma’, actress June Squibb plays the lead role of a grandmother. The old granny gets a call from his grandson who asks her to send him $10,000 for emergency. Later, Thelma (the grandmother) discovers that she was tricked by the scammers. After getting scammed she decides to take her money back and begins her adventure across the San Fernando Valley on a two-person e-scooter.

The movie is written and directed by Josh Margolin. As per the report, the director named the film after his 103-year-old grandmother, Thelma Post. It is said that, a decade ago, Margolin’s grandma was scammed in the same manner as Squibb is scammed in the movie. It will hit the big screens on July 21st, 2024 under the banner of Zurich Avenue, Bandwagon, and Invention Studios.
