99 OTT Release Date: On May 17, 2024—the 25th anniversary of the achievement—all three episodes of the documentary will be streamable.

New Delhi: The imposing documentary series 99, which chronicles Manchester United’s historic treble-winning season of 1999—in ten crucial days during which the renowned squad won the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League—will debut on Prime Video on May 17.

After retrieving the Premier League championship from Highbury, Alex Ferguson’s star-studded squad defeated Newcastle United in the FA Cup final and then held off arch-rivals Arsenal.

About the Documentary

From the perspectives of legendary Manchester United players and manager Alex Ferguson, the documentary series 99 traces the events leading up to the club’s historic 1999 treble-winning season.

World football’s biggest moments are chronicled in this series, along with the lives of the players that Sir Alex Ferguson brought together, trained, and shaped into legends.

Featuring fascinating and renowned players like captain Roy Keane and long-serving goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel, the documentary delves into Ferguson’s ambition to transform the core of his squad, consisting of academy graduates, into a legendary winning machine.

Featuring in-depth conversations with key personalities, viewers will vividly remember every viewpoint and pivotal event. Built with exclusive historical material and honest, behind-the-scenes capture from the club and supporters, 99 transports viewers to a pivotal moment in sports history, allowing them to experience this historic victory from every angle.

When and Where to Watch?

The series will have global access and will only be accessible on Amazon Prime Video. In 2024, more than 240 nations and territories will host the international premiere of the English documentary.

Cast and Crew

Interviews with renowned manager Sir Alex Ferguson and assistant Steve McClaren, along with ex-players David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Peter Schmeichel, Dwight Yorke, Teddy Sheringham, Nicky Butt, Andy Cole, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, will feature in series, as seen in the trailer.

Directed by Sampson Collins, the documentary is co-produced by the teams at Ventureland, Studio 99 (David Beckham’s production firm), and Buzz16 (Gary Neville’s).

With Nicola Howson and David Gardner of Studio 99, Scott Melvin of Buzz 16, and Kerstin Emhoff of Ventureland serving as executive producers, the series is developed by John Battsek and Miles Coleman of Ventureland.
