New Delhi: The audience has grown up more mature and furthermore opinionated over time, and clearly knows what it wants in terms of content, genre, quality, and more.

As compared to the previous times, the current Indian viewers have plenty of platforms and contents to switch to, in case they find something unconventional or objectionable about a particular project.

Not just that, if the Hindi films or the content of other regional languages fail to deliver rich quality content, viewers prefer to move to Hollywood and other foreign films as we have a comparatively more educated audience today.

The boycott trend

As a result of this development, viewers have brought up a unique concept of calling for a boycott of a certain film or content in order to register their objections or outrage against the content of the film, controversial remarks of the actors, and for many other reasons.

This boycott trend has become a major reason for financial loss to makers and actors, as they are being targeted for their old statements or remarks which did not go well with a large section of the audience.

Arjun Kapoor slam haters

Now, actor Arjun Kapoor has come in support of Bollywood actors, and even wants action to be taken against the Netizens who support the boycott trend.

In an interview with English daily Bollywood Hungama, Arjun Kapoor said, “I think we made a mistake by being silent about it and that was our decency but people have started taking advantage of that”.

“You know you don’t always need to get your hand dirty but I guess we tolerated it a lot and now people have made this a habit. We need to come together and do something about it because what people write about us or the hashtags that trend, are far away from reality”, he further stated.

Ab jyada hone laga hai…unfair hai (This has started happening a lot now. It is unfair)”, he added.
