New Delhi: Veteran actor Ashish Vidyarthi tied the knot for the second time in an intimate registry marriage with Rupali Barua. The couple reportedly got married in a Kolkata club and the pictures from their ceremony went viral on the internet. At the age of 60, the actor is beginning a new phase of his life with fashion entrepreneur Rupali Barua.
In the viral pictures, Ashish can be seen dressed up as a groom in a Mundu while Rupali opted for a white and golden Mekhela Chador from Assam, reflecting their respective cultures in their outfits and ceremonies. Rupali also went with some golden jewellery inspired by South Indian temple art.
Reportedly, it was an intimate wedding ceremony, attended by close family and friends.
Talking about the wedding, Ashish told TOI that at this stage of his life, getting married is an ‘extraordinary feeling’. He added that they had a court marriage, followed by a get-together in the evening.
Known for his roles in ‘Aligarh’ and ’24:India’, Ashish Vidyarthi is a national award-winning actor. On the work front, he was last seen in the popular web show ‘Rana Naidu’ and will next be seen in ‘Vishal Bhardwaj’s spy-thriller ‘Khufiya’. The actor was previously married to Rajoshi Barua, the daughter of actor Shakuntala Barua. The couple also have a son, Arth Vidyarthi.
Rupali is a fashion entrepreneur who hails from Guwahati. She owns a fashion store in Kolkata and Ashish has been sharing several vlogs from Kolkata on his YouTube channel. Talking about Ashish, Rupali said that he is a ‘beautiful human being and a great soul’.
