New Delhi: The makers of the upcoming period drama ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ dropped the first look of the star cast of the film on Thursday.
While fans are in awe of the fierce portrayal of various characters of the film, Netizens are left captivated by the poster image of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Dressed in a red saree with golden borders, Aishwarya could be seen wearing royal gold jewelry.

While sharing her first look from the much-awaited fictional drama, the actress wrote in her Instagram account, “The golden era comes to the big screens on September 30th”.

For the unversed, directed by Mani Ratnam, ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is based on the Tamil literary novel of the same name.
Aishwarya and Ratnam share a close bond with each other, for Aishwarya marked her film career with Mani Ratnam’s ‘Iruvar’ only. The duo later worked on films like ‘Guru’ and ‘Raavan’.
Meanwhile, the upcoming film which is expected to be released in Tamil and Hindi languages among others, also stars Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Vikram, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Jayaram, and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles.
