New Delhi: In 2018, Akshay Kumar joined the cop universe created by Rohit Shetty, playing the character Veer Sooryavanshi. He made a grand entrance in the movie Simmba, where he had a cameo role alongside Ranveer Singh. This led to his own solo cop film, Sooryavanshi, which was released during Diwali in 2021. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the movie was a huge success both critically and commercially.
Akshay Kumar & Rohit Shetty Reunites
The cop universe is still expanding, with the next installment being Singham Again, led by Ajay Devgn. Sources said that Rohit Shetty is preparing to collaborate with Akshay Kumar once again, this time for a standalone action thriller.
Sources close to the project have revealed that Akshay Kumar has agreed to star in a new action-thriller film. This film will be produced by Rohit Shetty and directed by Mohit Suri. The script has been discussed extensively by Rohit, Mohit, and Akshay, and it perfectly matches their creative vision. The movie promises to be an exciting and thrilling experience, with Akshay playing a unique role that audiences have never seen before.
The film is expected to have a strong cast, as the story requires several important characters to move the plot forward. This movie will be one of the many projects that Rohit Shetty plans to produce in the future. Rohit Shetty is about to begin filming his highly anticipated movie, Singham Again, today at a studio in Mumbai. This is the fifth installment of his cop universe and stars Ajay Devgn in the lead role. Additionally, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, and Tiger Shroff will make special appearances in the film. Arjun Kapoor will play the antagonist, and Jackie Shroff, who was also in Sooryavanshi, will be part of the cast as well.

Akshay Kumar has a busy schedule ahead. His movie Mission Raniganj is set to release on October 6, followed by the Sudha Kongara-directed adaptation of Soorarai Pottru in February and Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in April. He is also preparing to start filming for Khel Khel Mein soon in the UK. Additionally, he will be making an appearance in Singham Again as part of his role in Sooryavanshi later this year.
