New Delhi: The first teaser of the anticipated film ‘Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat’ was released on December 22. The movie is helmed by Anurag Kashyap and is labelled as an Amit Trivedi musical. The film stars Alaya F and Karan Mehta in the lead and premiered at the Marrakech Film Festival.

The teaser shows Alaya F’s character studying in a school and she seems to be in love with the character played by Karan Mehta. As the video plays, we can hear the song ‘Mohabbat Se Hi Kranti Aayegi ‘ in the background. The teaser also quotes the lyrics from ‘Humne Dekhi Hai Un Ankhon Ki’, penned by Gulzar. The clip ends with Karan Mehta in tears and a shot of Alaya F hugging him.
Last week, Anurag Kashyap made the announcement of the film’s selection at the Hainan Island International Film Festival and promised his fans to release the teaser soon. The music in the film is composed by Amit Trivedi, who also did his first film ‘Dev D’ with Anurag.

Anurag Kashyap, in an interview, stated that the film deals with the themes of young people finding love and has the themes of prejudices, predatory behaviour and homophobia as well. The film is also written by Anurag Kashyap, who last directed ‘Dobaaraa’ starring Tapsee Pannu.
The film is produced under the banner of Zee Studios and Kashyap’s Good Bad Films. After touring various film festivals, ‘Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat’ will release in cinemas on February 3. The film also has Netflix as its OTT partner.
