New Delhi: The trailer for Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming venture ‘Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat’ was launched as the filmmaker pays an ‘ode to modern love’. The movie is helmed by Anurag Kashyap and stars Alaya F and Karan Mehta as the lead. The film is being presented as an Amit Trivedi musical and was first premiered at the Marrakech Film Festival.
The trailer shows a love story between Sameer, played by Karan Mehta, and Ayesha, played by Alaya F developing since their school times. The video clip shows Ayesha’s family not approving of her relationship with Sameer as the couple elopes. It is an old-school story with a modern point of view and a different treatment.
Kashyap’s film revolves around the idea of love being the only way to revolution and explores the relationships of youngsters in the light of prejudices and the unwillingness of the older generation. The film is shot with dull colours while it also has some sweet moments in the mountains.
The music for the film is composed by Amit Trivedi, who also worked with Kashyap in ‘Dev D’. Apart from direction, the story and the script are also penned by Anurag Kashyap. The film also premiered at the Hainan Island International Film Festival.
The film is produced under the banner of Anurag’s Good Bad Films and Zee Studios. After screening at various film festivals, ‘Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat’ will hit the cinemas on February 3. Later, the film will also have an OTT release on Netflix.
