New Delhi: Ever since his directorial ‘Animal’ made it to the big screens, Snadeep Reddy Vanaga has become the talk of the town on social media.
While many fans are hailing him for making such a compelling blockbuster movie, others are bashing the 41-year-old director for glorifying misology and promoting toxic masculinity in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer.
Amidst this, Sandeep has spoken about the reason behind his decision to replace Parineeti Chopra with Rashmika Mandanna for playing the character of Ranvijay’s (played by Ranbir Kapoor) wife in his crime drama.
What made Sandeep remove Parineeti from Animal?
Speaking with Komal Nath, the acclaimed director said that after signing Parineeti for Animal almost a year and a half before the commencement of the film’s shoot, he felt like she was not apt for playing the character of Geetanjali. Following that, he removed Parineeti and later replaced her with South Indian sensation Rashmika Mandhanna.
For those who don’t know, when Sandeep initially announced the film Animal, its original cast featured Parineeti Chopra as the lead actress who was later replaced by Rashmika Mandhanna.

Commenting about his decision to replace Parineeti, the director later mentioned that he even said sorry to Parineeti for throwing her out of his movie and going ahead with the Pushpa actress instead. He said, “Kuch characters aur kuch kuch logo ko set nahi ho pata hai” (Some characters are not meant to be played by some people)

Interestingly, Animal was not the only movie in which Sandeep wanted to cast Parineeti but later changed his mind and went ahead with another actress instead.
Earlier as well, Sandeep, for playing the lead actress in his Shahid Kapoor starrer 2019’s romantic drama Kabir Singh, tried to rope in Parineeti but things didn’t work out the way he expected and the director was compelling to sign another artist (Kiara Advani) for the same role.
Speaking about the same, the Arjun Reddy director revealed that although Parineeti was initially upset about not being cast in Kabir Singh, she later made peace with the same.
