‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ BO Collection: Marvel Studio’s film manages to surpass Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Shehzada’ on day 1

The film is competing with the likes of the Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Shehzada’ and Dhanush’s ‘Vaathi’ in the market, while Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster ‘Pathaan’ is still running houseful shows.

New Delhi: Marvel Studio’s ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ started off well at the Indian as well as the global box offices. The film is competing with the likes of the Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Shehzada’ and Dhanush’s ‘Vaathi’ in the market, while Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster ‘Pathaan’ is still running houseful shows.

‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ earned Rs 8.75 – 9.25 crore nett on day 1, while ‘Shehzada’ could collect Rs 7 crore nett. It shows that Marvel Studio’s fanbase is there to support the film in cinemas.

As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the Hollywood film earned Rs 2.35 crore at PVR, Rs 1.05 crore at INOX and Rs 75 lakh at Cinepolis by 3 pm yesterday.

About the film

Taking forward, MCU’s phase 5, the film follows Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne, aka Ant-Man and the Wasp, along with Hank Pym and Janet exploring the Quantum Realm. The character of ‘Kang: The Conquerer’ is also introduced in the film as the prime antagonist. Directed by Peyton Reed, the film stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jonathan Majors and Kathryn Newton in major roles.

The film mustered mixed reviews as critics and some of the audiences called it chaotic while some loved it. Jonathan Majors as Kang and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne earned appreciation for their acting and fans are also excited to see Kang play a similar role which Thanos did in the past.

The film was released on February 17 and is running in cinemas.
