Plot
Appatha is an endearing tale of an improbable relationship that emphasises the importance of respecting one’s parents and knowing one’s own self.
Kannamma, often known as Appatha, is highly regarded by her family and friends. Appatha’s pickle business employs a large workforce and supports many local families. She is devoted to her work and does all she can to provide for her family. Despite growing up in the pickle company, Appatha’s son does not share enthusiasm. He decides to fulfil his dream of attending college in Chennai. After finishing his studies, he finds work, gets married, and eventually settles down in Chennai.
The main interest of the story starts when Appatha moves to Chennai to assist care for her grandson, freeing up her son and daughter-in-law to concentrate on their jobs. Appatha’s son and his family unexpectedly leave her in charge of their dog when they go on living their life while she’s visiting Chennai. Despite her initial fear of the dog and reluctance, she comes to love the dog dearly.
