AR Rahman’s Chennai concert slammed over mismanagement and overcrowding, says ‘Worst gift from AR Rahman’

According to fans’ social media handle posts and viral videos, women claimed they were violated in the stampede and the venue was overbooked.

New Delhi: Oscar award-winning composer AR Rahman’s fans are angry and disappointed after attending his recent concert in Chennai. He performed at Adityaram Palace in Chennai’s Paniyur on September 10.  Many of his went to attend the concert. However many took to X to slam the musician and organizers(ACTC) for poor crowd management. Many of the people were not allowed to enter despite having a valid ticket due to overcrowding.

According to fans’ social media handle posts and viral videos, women claimed they were violated in the stampede and the venue was overbooked. A user wrote that fans who paid  2000 rupees for tickets were unable to even enter the ARR concert place tagging AR Rahman. Many shared their experiences of suffering panic attacks and anxiety due to the mismanagement of crowds.  They said very poorly organized concert, a waste of money and energy. It felt like betrayal one of the users wrote. One of the users said was feeling so stressed due to so many fights and shit that was going around.

Film trade analyst Manobal Vijayabalan shared a video and expressed disappointment for AR Rahman fans, he posted a video showing a fan toring the concert ticket and saying  an unforgettable event and the worst gift for AR Rahman to the people.”A fan paid almost 15k for the concert and almost died in the stampede. The crowd was flowing from every corner and said never to attend his concert. Calling it the worst concert ever in the history, a performer can’t never see what’s happening at the other areas, just watch it.

Later on AR Rhman took to his X handle to  address the concern and said those who bougt tickets and were not allowed to enter can share the grievances to his team.

Talking about workfront of AR Rahman he has given music in films like Pnniyin Selvan, Rockstar, Shivaji, The Boss and Slumdog Millionaire are some of them.
