New Delhi: Argylle, directed by Matthew Vaughn, is a forthcoming espionage film. Elly Conway’s as-yet-unpublished novel serves as the concept for the film, which was first revealed in 2021 and follows the finest spy in the world as it becomes entangled in a world-spanning journey.
With plots taking place in various locales, Matthew Vaughn’s action-comedy is planned to be the first of three films in the series. Fans of the espionage genre are already getting excited about the star-studded ensemble, which includes Henry Cavill and Dua Lipa.
In a record transaction that cost Apple $200 million, the corporation acquired exclusive rights to the picture. Henry Cavill may find himself a little preoccupied as Argylle is the first of a trilogy set to debut on Apple TV Plus.
Plot
In the narrative, Elly Conway, a reclusive author, is known for writing spy novels that have become quite popular. These novels follow the tale of a secret agent called Argylle who is on a quest to uncover a worldwide spy syndicate. However, as the stories of her novels begin to reflect the covert acts of a real-life espionage agency, the boundary between fiction and reality starts to blur.
Matthew Vaughn is set to direct a thriller about a best-selling female novelist who turns out to be a world-class spy suffering from amnesia.
Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell & Samuel L Jackson are in talks to star in the film.

Trailer
In September 2023, both Apple TV and Universal unveiled the first trailer for Argylle. In particular, the clip hints at a major plot twist and discloses that the film’s eponymous spy is an invention of Bryce Dallas Howard’s character.
Release Date
It has been formally revealed by Apple that the espionage movie will have its debut in theatres beginning on February 2, 2024, and that it will thereafter make its debut on Apple TV Plus later.

Henry Cavill plays the main role as Argylle, the titular spy, in Matthew Vaughn’s film. Bryce Dallas Howard plays author Elly Conway, Sam Rockwell plays Aidan, Dua Lipa plays Lagrange, and Ariana DeBose plays Keira, among many others.

Jason Fuchs, Adam Bohling, and David Reid—partners of Mathew Vaughn—form Cloudy Productions, which is producing Argylle. Executive producers of the Apple film include Zygi Kamasa, Carlos Peres, Claudia Vaughn, and Adam Fishbach. Distribution for Argylle is handled by Universal Pictures.
