New Delhi: Businessman Lalit Modi and actor Sushmita Sen’s dating news shook the internet on July 14. Lalit Modi took on Twitter to announce him dating the former Miss Universe and he also shared some never-seen-before pictures of them. One such picture that emerged on the internet was of the couple with Lalit Modi’s ex-wife Minal Modi.
Lalit Modi shared the picture on his Instagram handle, along with some other photographs of him and his current girlfriend Sushmita Sen. Out of all the pictures, this was the picture that caught everyone’s attention. In the picture, Sushmita and the then-married couple can be seen engaged in an intense discussion. People posted a lot of congratulatory messages in the comments for the new couple.
Minal Modi, however, died in 2018 due to cancer.

Minal Modi, Lalit Modi’s ex-wife
She was born in Nigeria to Pesu Aswani, a Nigeria-based Sindhi businessman. Before marrying Lalit Modi, she was married to Jack Sagrani, a Nigeria-based businessman. Sagrani’s name appeared in a scam for which he was imprisoned in Saudi Arabia for seven months. During this period she was carrying their kid, Karima Sagrani.
As Minal separated from Jack, she moved to Delhi, where she lived at Bina Modi’s (Lalit’s mother) house. Lalit and Minal declared their love and married each other on October 17, 1991, in Mumbai. The couple has two children, Aaliya Modi and Ruchir Modi. Lalit Modi was 10 years younger than his wife Minal.
On 10 December 2018, Minal passed away from cancer at the age of 64. Lalit took on social media to announce her demise and wrote, “My Love My Life My Soulmate. You are finally at Peace and I am sure you will be watching over us.”

Lalit Modi announced the news as he tweeted and referred to Sushmita as her ‘better half’. Netizens were shocked as they assumed that the couple had married each other, but Mr Modi made it clear that they are only dating at the moment.
