New Delhi: With theatres operating at full capacity, Bollywood blockbusters are heading for mega releases. Heartthrob Akshay Kumar will be seen next in flick titled Atrangi Re along with co-star Sara Ali Khan.
The upcoming flick has collated a pool of talented artists including music maestro AR Rahman, lyricist Irshad Kamil, scriptwriter Himanshu Sharma and will be directed by filmmaker Anand L Rai.
As the movie gears up for release, Sara Ali Khan’s effusive praise for Akshay Kumar has caught the attention of audience and cinema fans. While speaking to press, she revealed that she calls Akshay ‘Thalaivar of North’, a name synonymous with South superstar Rajinikanth. Sara says she is taken away by the energy, spark & spontaneity of Akshay Kumar.
Sara was also highly appreciative of another co-actor Dhanush and called him an ‘inspiration’.
Recalling the experiences on film sets, she said, “Dhanush is an institution in himself & there is plenty to learn from him. He knows the camera like I know water.”
Atrangi Re music was released on Monday in presence of the film crew members. AR Rahman’s music has taken the fans by storm and they are enjoying every bit of it. Songs like Chaka Chak and Rait Zara Si have turned out to be instant hits. The movie is all set to release on Disney+Hotstar on December 24, 2021.
How Atrangi Re title came up
At the music launch event, filmmaker was asked about how he came up with the idea and also how he zeroed in on the film title.
Rai had an interesting revelation to make. He said that he and scriptwriter Himanshu Sharma had this title in mind for past 2 years but they got to know that Salman Khan already had rights to this title.

“When Salman Bhai came to know that we had Atrangi Re in our mind, he was kind enough to give it to us,” revealed Anand Rai.
