Bad Newz Box Office Collection Day 4: Vicky Kaushal’s film witnesses a massive dip on Monday, stoops to single-digit figure

This romantic-comedy film did decent on Friday (release day) and Saturday earning Rs. 8.3 crore and Rs. 10.23 crore respectively.

New Delhi: Vicky Kaushal’s recently released rom-com Bad News has seen a major drop on day 4 of its box office collection. Starring Vicky Kaushal, Tripti Dimrii, and Ammy Virk; the film released with the third biggest opening weekend, it dipped drastically on Monday with its earnings stooping to single digits.

This romantic-comedy film did decent on Friday (release day) and Saturday earning Rs. 8.3 crore and Rs. 10.23 crore respectively. The film on Sunday did well, where the earnings amounted to Rs. 11.15 crore. On Monday, an unexpected 68 percent drop was seen in its collection compared to the previous 3 days. Switch from weekends to weekdays in its gross is quite common, but for Bad Newz; the percentage drop is very prominent.

Vicky Kaushal has scored his biggest opening day with the release of Bad Newz on Friday beating his blockbuster drama- Uri: The Magical Strike (2019) directed by Aditya Dhar. Vicky scored his career’s third biggest opening weekend after Uri earned Rs. 35.73 crore and Meghna Gulzar’s popular film Raazi (2018) scored Rs. 32.94 crore. After Monday’s disappointing attraction, the film is now at Rs. 33 crore.

Released on July 19, the film is about the story of a woman, (Tripti Dimrii) who gets pregnant with twins (played by Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk) with two separate fathers, a case of heteroparental superfecundition. Directed by Anand Tiwari along with producers- Amritpal Singh Bindra, Dharma Productions and Apoorva Mehta, Bad Newz is the sequel to the successful comedy-drama, Good Newz starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani, and Diljit Dosanjh.

Protagonist Vicky Kaushal is supposed to be seen next in Laxman Uthekar’s period drama Chaava and Love & War with Sanjay Leela Bhansali alongside Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
