Batman Day: Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy returns to theatres

Every year, fans commemorate Batman Day on the third Saturday of September. As part of this year’s celebration, several Batman films will be re-released, including Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, which is marking its 30th anniversary.

New Delhi: On Batman Day, aka the third Saturday of September, select theaters are bringing back Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.

The highest-grossing film released by Warner Bros. was The Dark Knight until it was surpassed by Greta Gerwig’s Barbie earlier this month. The Dark Knight trilogy presents a realistic and dark approach to the Batman story. It showcases some of the most notable performances in superhero movies, such as Heath Ledger’s Joker and Christian Bale’s Batman. Whether you’re a fan of the trilogy or new to it, now is the perfect opportunity to watch it on the big screen.

During a recent second-quarter earnings call, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav expressed his high hopes for the future of the motion picture business, especially after the successful Barbie franchise. Despite recent challenges in-studio performance and underutilization of storytelling IP, the company is taking significant steps to improve the creative direction of both Warner Bros. Pictures Group and DC. This includes focusing on some of their great underutilized intellectual properties. For instance, it has been a decade since the last stand-alone Superman movie and nine years since the last Lord of the Rings film.

Zaslav continued to say, “They’d make two to three of them together with a slate of new original content, and that was the winning formula. We too believe in the power of tentpoles, featuring great IP recognized by people everywhere in the world. While we’ve still got lots to do, we’re very optimistic about the growth potential of this business.”
