The series is based on the true events of the gut-wrenching 2012 Nirbhaya gang-rape case. The series focuses on the incident of how an innocent girl was cruelly gang-raped in the moving bus and how a female police officer cracks the case and gets hold of the criminals. The series featured Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain, and Rajesh Tailang in pivotal roles. The series also won the 2020 International Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama series.
