‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Trailer: Marvel pays tribute to late Chadwick Boseman, Dominique Thorne plays Ironheart in sequel

In the trailer, the characters can be seen mourning T’Challa as an emotional rendition of ‘No Woman No Cry’ plays in the background.

New Delhi: Marvel Studios shared the first trailer of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ in a presentation in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con. The trailer includes a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, who played the character of T’Challa aka Black Panther. The film is directed by Ryan Cooglerwho also directed the prequel of the upcoming film.

In the trailer, the characters can be seen mourning T’Challa as an emotional rendition of ‘No Woman No Cry’ plays in the background. The film will see a return of Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia, Danai Gurira’s Okoye and Letitia Wright’s Shuri, along with some new characters as well. A picture of T’Challa can be seen painted on the streets of Wakanda, helping the people remember their former king.

The new characters include Tenoch Huerta playing Namor the Submariner, Mabel Cadena as Namora and Dominique Thorne as Ironheart. The trailer showed the introduction of Atlantis in the MCU.

In the epic final shot, the trailer shows someone wearing the iconic Black Panther suit as the claws emerge from the hand. The suit has a new design and a new owner, though, the person wearing the suit was not revealed in the trailer. But, just a look at the suit was enough to raise the excitement among the fans.

A fan praised Autumn Durald’s cinematography in the trailer.

The film will reportedly be the final film in MCU phase 4.

American writer-actor Quinta Brunson said that she has watched the trailer 10 times, and also praised director Ryan Coogler.

Fans are missing Boseman as T’Challa in the film.

Daniel Kaluuya is another actor who would not feature in the sequel. Kaluuya, who played the role of W’Kabi, is said to have exited the Marvel project due to conflicts with scheduling on Jordan Peele’s horror ‘Nope’.

‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ will release on November 11 in theatres.
