New Delhi: On Wednesday, January 18, 2024, the Jio Cinema will host the world premiere of Warner Bros. Pictures’ Blue Beetle. The picture, which was directed by Angel Manuel Soto, stars Xolo Mariduena as the protagonist, Jaime Reyes, a recent college grad.
The August 2023 theatrical premiere and earlier OTT release on Max, Blue Beetle is finally arriving at Jio Cinema. You can also rent the DC Superhero flick on BMS Stream and Amazon Prime Video.
Plot
Upon his return to Puerto Rico after college, Jaime Reyes finds that a lot has changed. He is full of ideas and hopes for the future. As he searches for meaning in life, Jaime comes upon the Scarab, an artefact of extraterrestrial biotechnology. When a scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, changing him into the superhero Blue Beetle and bestowing upon him a remarkable suit of armour with extraordinary and unpredictable abilities, Jaime’s life is changed forever.
The whole plot centres on Jaime Reyes, who faces the difficulties of life after college while unwittingly taking possession of a magical artefact. This life-changing incident changes Jaime’s trajectory, and the film follows him as he embarks on a new identity as the Blue Beetle.
When and Where to Watch?
The superhero genre is given a new point of view with the addition of Blue Beetle to Warner Bros.’s roster of superhero movies. Beginning on January 18, 2024, the film will be made available for the first time on Jio Cinema.

The film was directed by Angel Manuel Soto. The lead role Jaime Reyes, and his alter ego, are both played by Xolo Mariduena. The film has supporting parts from Adriana Barraza, Damian Alcazar, Susan Sarandon, Raoul Max Trujillo, and George Lopez.

The first film based on the DC Comics hero was Warner Bros. Pictures’ Blue Beetle. Making history as the first picture to outgross Barbie, it debuted with $25 million at the box office.
It’s a damn shame Blue Beetle didn’t perform well at the box office. That was a great movie and @Xolo_Mariduena and the rest of the cast were all fantastic. I hope it gets a shot at a sequel.
