New Delhi: Blue Exorcist: The Blue Night Saga is the upcoming sequel to the Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga, and is fully set on hitting streaming platforms after much high anticipation from fellow anime fans and the fans of the genres of an interesting mix of fantasy and action with the dwelling depths of mythology elements coupled in.

The sequel is set to premiere in January 2025 as the series drops one hit after another on prequels and adaptations. Originally back in its days Blue Exorcist, a highly popular manga series by Kazue Kato, began its serialization in 2009 in Shueisha’s monthly shonen manga magazine Jump Square and has over 25 million copies in print.

Therefore, after achieving a massive fan following for its interesting plot and ue of mythological elements, the anime project started off in 2011 as the TV anime series Blue Exorcist. Following the release of the TV series and its appreciation and warm welcome by the anime community, Blue Exorcist: The Movie was released in 2012, integrating anime-specific story elements with the original story from the manga.

Plot

The plot revolves around two twin boys, Rin and Yukio Okumura. Both are raised under the care of Father Shiro Fujimoto, an exorcist who dotes on the boys and raises them with love and care.

However, the story takes a twist when Rin discovers, that he and his twin brother Yukio are the sons of Satan, born from the womb of a mortal woman. After an unfortunate circumstance leads Shiro, their father to die to shield them both right in front of Rin’s eyes, the boy draws the demon-slaying sword, known as the “Kurikara”, which restrains his demonic strength and powers.

From that moment on, Rin’s features adapt to a more demonic appearance, he gains fangs along with a tail and is also granted the power of igniting blue flames, easily able to destroy anything that comes in contact with them in a single touch, a monstrous display of power.

In the upcoming sequel, after defeating the Impure King, Rin and his friends return to True Cross Academy, but with their arrival, a string of strange events is set loose.

Lucifer of the Illuminati appears at the school festival, he states that he is to declare a war, merging the likings of mankind with demons and the goal, of resurrecting satan, who also happens to be the twins’ father.
