New Delhi: Debaloy Bhattacharya’s latest Hoichoi serial Boka Bakshote Bondi features actress Solanki Roy in the role of a lady confined to a television set.
Debaloy Bhattacharya, whose most recent feature film was Shri Swapankumarer Badami Hyenar Kobole starring Abir Chatterjee, helms Boka Bakshote Bondi, which has a unique plot.
Based on a popular Bengali song, the title means “trapped in an idiot box” and follows Solanki Roy’s character as she becomes a television star. June 21st marks the premiere of this Bengali drama series on Hoichoi.
Plot
Actress Aupala, who is in her late twenties, wishes she could escape the spotlight and live a free life escaping her profession. Surrounded by a puzzling tangle, Aupala struggles to get her bearings and makes futile attempts to comprehend her predicament.
In Boka Bakshote Bondi, we can see Aupala as a well-known Bengali mega series in which she co-stars with Pratik as Shondhamoni. The mega series features Pratik and Shondhamoni as a romantic pair. However, Aupala and Partha are married in real life. But, the gap between the reel and reality begins to narrow.
The teaser depicts Solanki Roy playing a dual part, one that is offscreen and another that is onscreen. In the latter role, Solanki is shown as being trapped inside the confines of her onscreen persona. The streams of Aupala’s journey are explored as Shondhamoni dominates her life and existence throughout the story.
