New Delhi: In 2021, Netflix bought the Italian TV serial Briganti, which is currently known as Brigands: The Quest for Gold. It won’t be long before this action drama hits streaming giant’s shelves.
This series, which has Antonio Le Fosse, Steve Saint Leger, and Nicola Sorcinelli at the helm, takes place in the mid-nineteenth century, after the Resurgence, also known as the Unification of the Italian States. The show takes place in southern Italy and follows a lady as she goes from being a devoted wife to a vicious bandit leader after being forced to flee her home.
Earlier, the trailer provided a fascinating look at the historical and dramatic adventure that was to come, which would be filled with politics, avarice, treachery, deceit, darkness, and the struggle for freedom.

Plot
In Brigands: The Quest for Gold, we follow Filomena on her quest to find a significant harvest of gold that is concealed in southern Italy. Her husband, a rich but brutal Piedmontese chieftain, is hell-bent on stealing it. The commander plans to send his soldiers on a brief expedition to seize the gold, which will enable them to quell the rebellion and bandits in the South and bring about peace. But while Filomena is out on the run, she guards the map—a vital component of his scheme—with great care.
Contrary to popular belief, brigands are rebels scavenging for freedom and survival. Under protection, humble Filomena joins them, shaves her smooth hair, and becomes one of them before becoming a leader. However, some female bandits are more skilled and vicious. In the dangerous jungle environment, Filomena’s upbringing, observation, and calm but impassioned mentality are enormous advantages.
When the State throws these brigands against one other, their leaders must unify from petty disputes to regain independence. It must be done while Filomena and her brigands struggle and hunt for the gold before the State obtains it.
