New Delhi: A two-part documentary from Louis Theroux’s production company, Can I Tell You A Secret? is based on true stories of victims of serial cyberstalker Matthew Hardy. It will describe the horrific and ongoing cyberbullying the women went through and how his actions ripped their lives apart, told via their testimonies.
In January 2022, Matthew Hardy was sentenced to nine years for creating fraudulent social media personas to harass his victims. This was the UK’s longest internet stalking sentence. His “Can I tell you a secret?” manipulation was notorious. Hardy sent messages that destabilised his victims. His acts really affected the victims badly.
The documentary will explain how the police tracked down the internet abuser and how his victims assisted in the investigation.

Plotline

Crucial evidence starts to emerge in a little village in Cheshire, which represents a turning point in the investigation in Part 2. The investigation is headed by a persistent police officer who is determined to find and punish the criminal.
