New Delhi: Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been making an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival since 2002 and she graced the event with her presence this year as well. She was one of the first Indian actors to make a global mark and that was visible on the red carpet as the world hailed her as the ‘Queen of Cannes’.
Aishwarya went in a silver shimmery hooded gown with a huge back bow, designed by Sophie Couture, on the red carpet of the film festival. While she stunned the fashion world with her outfit, netizens also rolled in hilarious memes. Fans compared her look to Jaadu from ‘Koi… Mil Gaya’ and an old picture of her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan.

The actor wore the outfit to the screening of ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’ and here are some hilarious reactions by the netizens.
Before her red carpet stint, Aishwarya was spotted at an event by L’Oreal in a shimmery green outfit by Valentino. She also appeared in an interview with film critic Anupama Chopra for Film Companion, where she talked about her last film ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’. The actor arrived at Cannes with her daughter Aaradhya.
Last year, Aishwarya wore a Gaurav Gupta Couture gown and a Dolce & Gabbana floral dress to the film festival. The former Miss World has had an eccentric presence at the French fest as she has been India’s representative at such global stages for more than two decades.
Apart from Aishwarya, actors Esha Gupta, Sara Ali Khan, Mrunal Thakur, Urvashi Rautela, Manushi Chhillar, and Vijay Verma also appeared at Cannes along with several Indian film critics and content creators.
