New Delhi: After Cate Blanchett’s barefoot stint at the Cannes Film Festival 2023, Hollywood star Jennifer Lawrence also ditched heels and chose comfort. The actor posed for the paparazzi on the red carpet in a red gown paired with flip-flops. Jennifer, who is known for her candid personality, made a statement with flip-flops at Cannes.
Jennifer posed on the red carpet at the premiere of the film ‘Anatomy of a Fall’ and her pictures soon went viral on the internet. The actor wore a fierce red gown by Christian Dior and defied the unsaid rules of fashion with her footwear.
Her statement was an important one as in 2015, some women were turned away from the screening of ‘Carol’ at Cannes for wearing flat shoes. While the organisers want women to wear heels while they walk the red carpet, women celebrities have protested against this sexist rule by wearing flat footwear and going barefoot on red carpets.
Jennifer’s flip-flops were lauded by the internet as fans found her relatable.
