A new Korean drama called Captivating the King chronicles the love tale of a plebian and a king amid extraordinary circumstances. The premise is a captivating romantic drama. With the launch in January 2024, two episodes will be dropped at a time, bringing the total number of episodes to sixteen.

Story Synopsis

Prince Lee In is the focus of the story. King Lee Sun, his elder brother, is very protective of him. Lee In is held captive by the Qing Dynasty after pledging allegiance to his elder brother. King Lee Sun quickly comes to detest his younger brother, seeing his allegiance as a sign of treason. This causes Lee In a great deal of emotional suffering.

After that, Lee In meets Kang Hee Soo, a baduk player who places bets on her matches. Seeing her, the king falls in love. Lee In becomes king due to circumstances. Despite his strength and position, he is unhappy and weak on the inside.

Prince Lee In and Hee Soo’s love story began when they got to know each other. A twist of destiny transforms her into a spy. In her quest for vengeance, she confronts King Lee In.

Release Date and Platform

In early January, the creators of Captivating the King revealed a brief, crisp teaser to hint at the next series. Netflix will release the first two episodes of the drama on January 21, 2024. Each Saturday and Sunday, fresh episodes will be accessible for streaming, bringing the total number of episodes to 16. Brace yourselves for the grand finale on March 10, 2024.

Cast

The series is directed by Jo Nam Gook. Shin Sae Kyeong (known for Run On) appears as Kang Hee Soo, while Jo Jung Suk (famous for Hospital playlist) plays King Lee In. Jo Sung Ha, Choi Dae Hoon, Lee Shin Young, and Park Ye Young are among the other supporting actors.
