New Delhi: Anushka Sharma was spotted in the historic Eden Gardens stadium while she shot for the India-Pakistan game for her upcoming film Chakda ‘Xpress. In the pictures, Anushka can be seen as Jhulan Goswami and a few players wearing green are padded up to play. The actor can be seen sweating and surrounded by the crew for the shoot.
The pictures indicated that the crew was shooting for a game between India and Pakistan at the home ground of legendary Indian pacer Jhulan Goswami. A picture also shows director Prosit Roy with Anushka Sharma. In one of the pictures, Anushka can be seen giving some expressions, probably for a close-up shot.
Earlier also there were paparazzi pictures from the shoot of the film which revealed the first look. The film has been in the buzz for various reasons like Anushka Sharma’s return after daughter Vamika’s birth, Jhulan Goswami retiring from the game and another collaboration between Prosit and Anushka.
The film is a sports biopic following the life of Jhulan who went on to play 284 international games for India and retired as the highest wicket-taker in the women’s ODIs, having 255 ODI scalps. She has a total of 355 international wickets and was a tall feared pace bowler in the cricket arena.
Chakda ‘Xpress also stars Atul Sharma. The film will release on Netflix. The release date of the film has not been announced yet, but it is expected that the film will release in late 2022 or early 2023. This will mark Anushka’s first film since ‘Zero’ in 2018.
