‘Chiyaan’ Vikram reacts to Anurag Kashyap’s claim of not getting reply from him

As the clip went viral, Vikram took to Twitter to clarify why he was not able to reply to Anurag and the two displayed mutual respect and friendship on social media.

New Delhi: Recently, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap told in an interview that he approached Chiyaan Vikram for his film ‘Kennedy’ but did not get a reply. As the clip went viral, Vikram took to Twitter to clarify why he was not able to reply to Anurag and the two displayed mutual respect and friendship on social media.

Vikram stated that the e-mail ID Anurag contacted was not functional and that is why he was not able to reply to him. He decided to put up the tweet for his fans on social media to clear the misunderstanding. Vikram wrote that when he heard from another actor that Anurag had tried to reach him for a film he called you himself and explained that he did not receive any e-mail or message.

He added that the e-mail ID that Kashyap had contacted was no longer active and his number had changed about two years before that. Vikram also wrote that he is ‘very excited’ about ‘Kennedy’ as it has his name. For the unversed, ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram’s original name is Kennedy John Victor.

Anurag replied to Vikram and said that he is ‘absolutely right’. Anurag also told that Vikram contacted him and showed interest in the script but they had locked the cast by then. He wrote that the actor also blessed him for the film as it is named after his original name.

Hinting at his will to work with ‘Chiyaan’, Anurag wrote that ‘Chiyaan sir’ or he is not retiring without working together and added that they know each other from ‘pre Sethu days’, mentioning Vikram’s 1999 film ‘Sethu’.

In an interview with Film Companion at the Cannes Film Festival, the filmmaker talked about Vikram being his first choice for ‘Kennedy’.

‘Kennedy’ is set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival 2023 and stars Sunny Leone, Rahul Bhat, and Abhilash Thapliyal in pivotal roles.
