New Delhi: The trailer of Chiyaan Vikram’s awaited film ‘Cobra’ was released on August 25. The film seems to be a promising action thriller with a story running across countries and continents. In the film, Vikram, who is coming back to the screen after three years, plays a mathematics genius and claims to be a maths teacher, but there is a lot more to his character.
As per the trailer, Vikram’s character is like a cobra, which keeps shedding its skin to grow a new one altogether. Though the trailer does not reveal much about the plot, it gives enough action and cinematic shots to get the fans excited about the venture. In the trailer, Chiyaan Vikram is seen in different avatars doing completely different things.
The film is directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu and stars Chiyaan Vikram, Srinidhi Shetty, former cricketer Irfan Pathan, K.S. Ravikumar, Roshan Mathew, Anandraj, Robo Shankar, Mia George, Mirnalini Ravi, Meenakshi Govindrajan and others. Irfan Pathan, making his acting debut, plays his nemesis who is on a hunt for the elusive Cobra in the film.
At one moment, the trailer pays an ode to Vikram’s Anniyan in the trailer. Srinidhi Shetty and Mrinalini Ravi get less screen time in the trailer and there is not much revealed about their roles. The music in the Tamil film is composed by A.R. Rahman and is produced under Sony Music. ‘Cobra’ is produced by S.S. Lalit Kumar and is presented under the banner of 7 Screen Studio.

The film will hit the cinemas on August 31. Vikram will also be seen in Mani Ratnam’s ‘ Ponniyin Selvan-I’.
